2016 Buick Enclave

The 2016 Buick Enclave continues the tradition it established when the line was introduced eight years ago - a quality crossover vehicle with plenty of space, ample features, and a stylish exterior with a distinctive grille. Larger than most mid-size SUVs, the vehicle is a solid middle option for drivers and families who are looking for space and a luxury feel without high luxury end costs. With a quiet and smooth ride, substantial capacity for cargo, and high safety scores, this ride is justifiably popular.

The 2016 Buick Enclave now boasts the latest version of OnStar, including easy 4G LTE connectivity and the capability for an in-car WiFi hot spot. Bluetooth phone and audio connectivity, a rearview camera, and the voice control and smartphone app integrated  Buick IntelliLink electronics interface makes the infotainment system in the Enclave thoroughly cutting edge. Dual USB charge ports and a six-speaker sound system that includes a CD player, an auxiliary audio jack, a USB audio interface, and satellite radio are standard. The dashboard itself includes padded vinyl trim and features clean styling.

While external design has stayed relatively the same from the 2015 model, the Enclave's new Tuscan Edition features an attractive bronze-trimmed grille and 20-inch chrome wheels accented with bronze.

The spacious interior offers three-row seating options in seven or eight passenger configurations, with the Tuscan edition providing leather seating. Every Enclave comes with second-row captain's chairs and a large seven-passenger capacity. Need larger? A second-row bench seat, increasing passenger capacity to eight, is optional on Premium vehicles.

The Tuscan also provides premium exterior paint options: Dark Chocolate Metallic, White Frost Tricoat, and Ebony Twilight Metallic. It also comes with stylish blue LED instrument panel lighting, power front driver and passenger seats with power recline, and Buick IntelliLink with a color touchscreen radio.

But the standard Enclave models are packed with luxurious additions, too, such as automatic xenon headlights, rear privacy glass, and a power liftgate, making cargo handling much easier. There are also heated mirrors, rear parking sensors, cruise control, and a tri-zone automatic climate control system designed to keep every passenger comfortable.  Moving up to the Leather group, along with the leather upholstery additional features include heated front seats, an eight-way power adjustment setting for the front passenger seat, and a heated steering wheel.

The top-of-the-line Premium Group adds in extra features such as forward collision alert, lane departure warning system, heated and ventilated front seats, a strong navigation system, and a 10-speaker Bose sound system.

There's also plenty of performance under the hood. All 2016 Buick Enclaves hold a 3.6-liter V6 offering 288 horsepower and 270 pound-feet of torque. The Enclave's six-speed automatic transmission and front-wheel drive are standard. Optional all-wheel drive is available for the leather and premium models.

The Enclave is strong too. With an optional towing package added, the Enclave can tow up to a substantial 4,500 pounds.

There's also a strong nod toward fuel savings, with an EPA of 17 mpg in the city and 24 mpg on the highway.

Anti-lock brakes are standard, as are rear parking sensors and a rear-view camera.

For a roomy, comfortable crossover with many luxury touches, the 2016 Buick Enclave is a family ride that fits the bill.
