History of Fletch's of Petoskey

At Fletch's, every staff members' goal is to work towards the satisfaction and interest of the customer by offering the best of information and services. Through their history, Fletch's name has earned a high level of respect and confidence by their constant effort to become "Your Dealership of Choice".

Fletch's has grown since 1939, founded by N. Fletcher Johnson (pictured at the right), from one red, white and blue school bus service to their operation today, still a family owned business. As Fletch's fleet grew to 8 buses, he also began to satisfy his customers with truck repair services. The fleet continued to grow, along with his services, leading up to the purchase of the GMC Truck franchise.

Fletch's continued growth always took into account the customer needs; additions and renovations to the facility, an added foreign franchise to satisfy demand for imports, and many new employees to offer services. Fletch's continued to expand with addition of a body shop and Audi franchises.

Fletch's commitment to customer service was carried on by four of his children, John Johnson, Mary Foster, Donald Johnson, and Robert Johnson, after his retirement in 1984.

The legacy continued the growth of Fletch's with a new facility and addition of franchises. Between the different companies of Johnson's Buses, Fletch's Garage and Fletch's Imports, they now had 65 employees to satisfy their customer growing needs. The consolidation of Fletch's Garage and Fletch's Imports brought about Fletch's, Inc.

Increased computerization and building renovations along with acquisition of the Buick and Pontiac franchises increased sales and service. Fletch's continues to provide "Complete Car Caring" by working and growing to satisfy new customer needs.
